Fast Hugs With Icu

The mnemonic ‘FAST HUG’ (Feeding, Analgesia, Sedation, Thromboembolic prophylaxis, Head-of-bed elevation, stress Ulcer prevention, and Glucose control) was proposed almost ten years ago for patients care in intensive care units and have been commonly used the world over. Beside this, new mnemonics were also delivered as an effort for improving routine care delivery of the critically ill. But none of this was not accepted as much as "fast hugs". In our clinical practice we delivered an another mnemonic as FAST HUGS WITH ICU (Feeding, Analgesia, Sedation, Thromboembolic prophylaxis, Head-of-bed elevation, stress Ulcer prevention, and Glucose control, Water Balance, Investigation and Results, Therapy, Hypo-hyper delirium, Invasive devices, Check the daily infection parameters, Use a checlist) for checking some of the key aspects in the general care of intensive care patients. In this review we summarized these mnemonics.

'FAST HUG' (Feeding: beslenme, Analgesia: analjezi, Sedation: sedasyon, Thromboembolic prophylaxis: tromboemboli proflaksisi, Head of bed elevation: baş yükseltilmesi, Stress Ulcer prophylaxis; ülser proflaksisi ve Glisemik kontrol) kısaltması neredeyse on yıl önce önerilmiş ve tüm dünyada kullanılmıştır. Bunun yanında, kritik hastaların rutin bakımını iyileştirebilmek için yeni anımsatıcı kısaltmalar geliştirilmiştir. Ancak bunların hiçbiri "fast hugs" kadar kabul edilmemiştir. Biz de pratik uygulamamızda yoğun bakım hastalarına genel yaklaşım ve anahtar hususları kontrol edebilmek amaçlı FAST HUGS WITH ICU (Feeding: beslenme, Analgesia: analjezi, Sedation: sedasyon, Thromboembolic prophylaxis: tromboemboli proflaksisi, Head of bed elevation: baş yükseltilmesi, Stress Ulcer prophylaxis; ülser proflaksisi ve Glisemik kontrol, Spontaneous breathing trial: spontan solunum denemesi, Water Balance: Sıvı balansı, Investigation and Results: Araştırmalar ve sonuçlar, Therapy: hastanın aldığı tedavi edici ajanlar ve devamı, Hypo-hyper delirium: günlük deliryum takibi, Invasive devices: invaziv girişimler, Check the daily infection parameters: günlük enfeksiyon parametreleriinin izlemi, Use a checlist: ir kontrol listesi kullanılması) şeklinde bir kısaltma geliştirdik. Bu derlemede bu kısaltmaları özetledik.
