Pandemi Döneminde İhmal Edilen Enfeksiyonlar

İnsanlık tarihinin başlangıcından bu yana çeşitli enfeksiyöz hastalıklar farklı zaman dilimlerinde sahneye çıkmışlardır. Her enfeksiyonun insanlar üzerindeki etkisi, yayılma hızı ve kontrol altına alınma süreçleri farklılık göstermiştir. 2019 Aralık ayında ortaya çıkan COVID-19 pandemisi hızla tüm dünyaya yayılmış ve günümüzde hala varlığını sürdürmektedir.
Amaç: Bu çalışma kapsamında COVID-19 pandemisinin sağlık sektörü üzerinde yapmış olduğu olumsuz etki sonucunda ihmal edilen önemli enfeksiyon hastalıklarına dikkat çekmek amaçlanmıştır.
Yöntem: COVID-19 pandemisinin tüberküloz, hepatit, HIV, influenza ve sıtma gibi geçmişten günümüze dünyada en çok görülen ve en çok ölüme neden olan hastalıklarının teşhis ve tedavi süreçleri üzerindeki etkilerini konu alan literatürlerden derlenmiştir.
Sonuç olarak, COVID-19 pandemisinin söz konusu hastalıkların teşhis ve tedavi süreçleri üzerinde kısa vadede aksaklıklara, uzun vadede ise bu enfeksiyonların yükünün artmasına ve kontrol stratejilerinin aksamasına sebep olacağından kaygı duyulmaktadır.
Infectious Diseases Neglected During the Pandemic

Since the dawn of human history, various infectious diseases have appeared in different time periods. The effects of each infection on humans, the rate of spread and the processes of containment have differed. The COVID-19 pandemic that emerged in December 2019 spread rapidly all over the world and still exists today.
Objective: Within the scope of this study, it is aimed to draw attention to important infectious diseases which are neglected as a result of the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health sector.
Method: It has been compiled from the literature on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the diagnosis and treatment processes of the most common and most fatal diseases in the world such as Tuberculosis, Hepatitis, HIV, Influenza and Malaria.
Conclusion: There is concern that the COVID-19 pandemic will cause short-term disruptions in the diagnosis and treatment processes of these diseases, an increase in the burden of these infections in the long term and disruption of control strategies.
