A brief overview of the moral responsibility of individual in environmental ethics

There are descriptions of the concept of responsibility in different disciplines. But here responsibility, will tried to be explained in the context of existentialism, based on its aspect which holds people accountable for their behavior. In order to be able to make this review, the discipline of environmental ethics and its approaches, which try to reveal the underlying reasons of environmental problems and to solve them, will be used.

Sorumluluk kavramının, farklı disiplinlerde tanımları bulunmaktadır. Ancak burada sorumluluk, insanı davranışlarından dolayı sorumlu tutan yönünden yola çıkarak varoluşçuluk bağlamında açıklanmaya çalışılacaktır. Bu incelemeyi yapabilmek için çevresel sorunları temelinde yatan nedenlerle ortaya koyan ve çözmeye çalışan çevre etiği disiplininden ve çevre etiği yaklaşımlarından yararlanılacaktır.
