Subtenon Triamcinolone Acetonide Injection in the Acute Treatment of Handheld Induced Maculopathy

Handheld laser (HHL) induced maculopathy is a condition that has increased in frequency in recent years and can lead to severe retinal damage and vision loss. Although there is no consensus on the treatment of HHL induced maculopathy, the use of systemic steroids to limit damage to the retina has been discussed. In this article, we present a case who underwent subtenon triamcinolone acetonide injection in the early period due to HHL induced maculopathy. To our knowledge, subtenon steroid administration has not been previously reported in the treatment of HHL induced retinopathy.

Elde taşınabilir lazer (ETL) ilişkili makulopati, sıklığı son yıllarda artan ve sebep olduğu ciddi retina hasarı ile görme kaybına yol açabilen bir durumdur. ETL ilişkili makulopatinin tedavisi ile ilgili görüş birliği olmamakla birlikte retinada oluşacak hasarı sınırlamak için sistemik steroidlerin kullanımı gündeme gelmiştir. Biz bu yazıda ETL ilişkili makulopati nedeniyle erken dönemde subtenon triamsinolon asetonid enjeksiyonu uygulanan bir olguyu sunuyoruz. Bizim bilgimize göre literatürde daha önce ETL ilişkili retinopati tedavisinde subtenon steroid uygulaması bildirilmemiştir
