Internal Medicine, Istanbul2SSK Goztepe Hospital, Cardiology, Istanbul Tricuspid atresia is characterized by absence of the tricuspid orifice, an interatrial communication, hypoplasia of the right ventricle, and the presence of communication between the systemic and pulmonary circulations, usually a ventricular septal defect. What is immedialety apparent is that lood can not flow across the tricuspid valve from the right atrium in to right ventricle. This path depends on the presence of other defects, like pulmonary stenos and transposition of the great arteries. In this article a case of adult tricuspid atresia is presented.
