The patient presented here was a sixty three years old left hemiparetic man who underwent amputation surgery due to diabetes mellitus 25 years after the development of hemiplegia. While he had a typical hemiplegic gait before the amputation, he became wheelchair dependent following the amputation. Physiotherapy programme was started two months after the surgery. Neurophysiological approaches and prosthetic rehabilitation were applied for 3weeks. Finally, the patient reached afunctional level of walking with the aid of a cane.
